Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar has spoken out against fake videos circulating online that wrongly show him playing the role of Maharishi Valmiki in a film trailer. The videos, created using artificial intelligence (AI), have sparked confusion among fans, prompting the actor to clarify the truth on X (formerly Twitter).

In his post, Akshay clearly stated, “I have recently come across some AI-generated videos of a film trailer showing me in the role of Maharishi Valmiki. I want to clarify that all such videos are fake and created using AI.” He also criticised some news channels for sharing these clips without proper fact-checking. “What’s worse is that some news channels decide to pick these up as ‘news’ without even verifying if these are real or morphed.”

Akshay urged both media houses and the public to be careful while sharing or believing content online, especially as AI tools are now being used to create misleading videos at high speed. His statement comes at a time when AI-generated content is becoming increasingly common and harder to detect.

On the Work Front: Jolly LLB 3

Akshay Kumar’s recent release was Jolly LLB 3, directed by Subhash Kapoor. The courtroom comedy features Akshay and Arshad Warsi facing off in a legal battle. The film was produced by Star Studios and Kangra Talkies.
