Meet the Marsupilami! Pathe in France has unveiled the fun first official trailer for a wacky new creature feature comedy called Marsupilami, from actor / director Philippe Lacheau. It’s set for release in France starting in February next year but has no US release set yet. Philippe Lacheau stars in and directs this film about a peculiar little creature known as “marsupilami”. Based on the comic books of the same name! The cute little yellow creature with black spots and a very, very long tail was created by André Franquin. Its first appearance was in the 31 January 1952 issue of the Franco-Belgian comics magazine Spirou. In this movie, a man is tasked to deliver a mysterious package from South America, only to find out he is bringing back a baby Marsupilami – sending their trip into complete chaos. Marsupilami stars Philippe Lacheau, Jamel Debbouze, Tarek Boudali, Elodie Fontan, Julien Arruti, Alban Ivanov, Reem Kherici, Corentin Guillot, and Jean Reno. Even without subtitles for the French it’s still watchable. Or just enjoy the trailer anyway & have fun hanging out this goofy yellow animal who loves to cause all kinds of trouble. View below.
Here’s the official French trailer (+ poster) for Philippe Lacheau’s comedy Marsupilami, from YouTube:

To save his job, David (Philippe Lacheau) agrees to a crazy plan: to bring back a mysterious package from South America. He finds himself on a cruise ship with his ex Tess, his son Leo, and his colleague Stéphane, who is as dim-witted as he is clumsy, and whom David uses to transport the package for him. Everything goes awry when Stéphane accidentally opens it: an adorable baby Marsupilami appears and their trip descends into chaos! Fifi’s gang is back, they’ve made a new friend… Marsupilami is a comedy directed by French filmmaker Philippe Lacheau, director of the films Babysitting 1 & 2, Alibi.com 1 & 2, City Hunter, Superwho? previously. The screenplay is written by Julien Arruti, Pierre Dudan, and Philippe Lacheau; with characters by André Franquin. It’s produced by Patrice Ledoux. Pathe will release Lacheau’s Marsupilami film in French cinemas starting on February 4th, 2026 early next year. Anyone into this? Look any fun?
