Taiwanese singer and actress Rene Liu, who is now 56 years old, has been married since 2011 to her Chinese businessman husband Zhong Xiao Jiang (Zhong Shi). They share a 10-year-old son together. Back then, the news was a surprise to fans, as the actress had long been known to be single despite expressing a wish to marry.

When asked about her pregnancy, Rene Liu explained that she gave birth at 45 years old in 2015. It turned out to be a natural conception, but she worked very hard to get pregnant since it was her “last chance.” She tried all sorts of traditional Chinese medicine, modern fertility treatments, and even traveled abroad to pray. Basically, she was willing to try anything. When she finally got pregnant, she said she was fortunate that her doctor advised her to just live normally and to avoid browsing the internet, because much of the information online about high-risk pregnancies due to her age would only cause stress and anxiety. He reminded her not to worry about what’s “forbidden” or “not allowed” for women her age and that she’s fine as long she doesn’t do anything too strenuous like basketball.

During pregnancy, Rene Liu remembered simply being very happy. She joked, “Finally, I don’t need to go on a diet, because no matter how much weight you gain, no one will complain!” In the end, she gained 19 kilograms.
